Subrina Akter Zedny

I am Subrina Akter Zedny, graduated from the Department of Microbiology, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Since 2020, I have been employed as a research student at the Biochemistry and Pathogenesis of Microbes (BPM) Research Group, which operates within the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chittagong. During this time, I have also had the opportunity to publish two research articles as a co-author as well as acquired valuable experience in fundamental research techniques such as microbial isolation, genetic and biochemical identification, and characterization.

Moreover, During the lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our class and lab activities were postponed from March to August 2020, and I used that time to work as an Emergency Laboratory Personnel (1st June to 31st August) at the IEDCR Field Laboratory in Cox's Bazar. in addition to that, in 2017, we faced the Chikungunya outbreak in Bangladesh, and during that critical time, I worked as a research intern for Biomedical Research Foundation on their Chikungunya project, where I was assigned to collect data from Chikungunya patients regarding their clinical findings, post-clinical symptoms, socio-economic status, and post-chikungunya situations.

I also have extensive experience as a volunteer for the Bangladesh Biology Olympiad (2016-2019), the Bangladesh Physics Olympiad (2018), and as a senior executive member (2018) of the American Society of Microbiology, Student Chapter, University of Chittagong.

All the experiences and voluntary activities have helped me to be team-oriented as well as acquired leadership skills, and excellent communication and networking skills which made me compatible for all sorts of jobs.
