    icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute that strives to solve key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. icddrb as a values-based organization encourages women and people with disabilities.

    icddr,b, in collaboration with partners will implement "USAID's Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA)" both at national and sub-national levels. Under CNHA, the consortium will work with different departments of the ministries, especially the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) of the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) at the national, regional, and local levels, to improve nutrition status by strengthening the community health system and support the effective implementation of the Second National Plan of Action for Nutrition (NPAN2).

    The Research Officer will report to the Principal Investigator. The position holder will be responsible for collecting qualitative and quantitative data, supervising the field team, collecting monitoring data, planning, organizing and participating in workshops, coordinating with the field team members and tracking each step of the specific procedure as per study objective, checking the field data and reports regularly, and sharing it with the PI under "USAID's Community Nutrition and Health Activity (CNHA)" project.

    Major responsibilities are:

  • Plan, communicate, and organize field visits as per study need;
  • Supervise the field team to ensure the quality of data
  • Implement the field activities through appropriate planning and execution
  • Provide training to the field staff;
  • Collect qualitative and quantitative data
  • Analyze and interpreting data;
  • Prepare different reports;
  • Work with PI in preparing quarterly progress reports, final technical reports and other reports as per donor requirements.
  • Organize workshops, dissemination and other project events
  • Take all relevant field notes, tracking and documentation of the day-to-day project activities and updating the progress to the supervisor in order to fulfil the study objectives;
  • Required qualifications and experience:

  • Master's degree in relevant discipline with good academic records, (Preferable subjects are Anthropology, Public Health, Statistics, and Applied Statistics)
  • 3 years of working experience in the relevant field
  • First-hand experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in Bengali typing is mandatory;
