    Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading causes of death worldwide. Nearly 43% of the population in Bangladesh is in the age group of 6 months to 19 years are exposed to at least one NCD risk factor. Early diagnosis of NCDs in children could help health managers control the increasing burden of these diseases in adults. In this study, a comprehensive and scalable pediatric NCD service delivery model will be developed at primary health care systems in two districts (Kishoreganj and Bagerhat) of the Dhaka and Khulna divisions in Bangladesh, in collaboration with NCDC, DGHS, pediatric NCD experts and other stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • The Senior Research Assistant will report to Senior Research Investigator and will be responsible to conduct field set up, field survey, hospital record review, community mobilization, coordination with CHCP, health workers at the community clinic level, work at the Upazila health complex, data collection, Analyze and Manage data with the objective of supporting research studies within the guidelines of project-specific field research procedures and organizational values and guidelines (such as Institutional Governance Framework – IGF and Gender Diversity Guidelines).
  • He/ she will be responsible for:

  • Attend all kinds of training/orientation sessions to understand data collection, questionnaires standard operating procedure, survey methodology;
  • Prepare weekly/monthly work plan and submit to the concern staff;
  • Hospital record review at the selected facilities in two districts;
  • Mobilization of community to the catchment area of the selected study sites;
  • Validate data collected with supervisor and escalate any issues;
  • Seek supervisor's guidance to resolve issues in interacting with respondents and collecting data; collected data to supervisor timely; Edit data and check for inconsistency;
  • Communicate with the supervisor for solving problems/questions related to data collection and any issues related to field implementation;
  • Maintain liaison with allied GoB, NGO and community representative in order to support research by uncovering evidence;
  • Arrange logistics for field visit and periodic check of logistic stock;
  • Share experience and learning within the team in order to improve the productivity of the team.
  • Required qualification and experience:

  • Masters in relevant field;
  • 01 years of experience in relevant field including health data collection, hospital record review and community mobilization.
