Department: • Project Implementation • Implementation and Operations Responsibility: • Installations, troubleshooting, and maintaining all fiber optic systems and experience in installations of telecommunication devices, labelling, patch cords and cabling. • Ability and understanding of OTDR testing, Red light testing, Live fiber identifier, along with power meter testing, and capture loss to ensure splicing loss budget is adhered to ensure there is adequate performance. •Extensive skills on Different Tools For Troubleshooting such as Power Meters, Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) & BERT tester to test fiber/E1 and verify specifications and throughput. • Surveys for OSP cable survey requirements, Route surveys for new OSP infrastructure including manholes, cable routes, road/hard surface cuts, HDD, building entries, cabinet’s location and electric source. • Report all OSP issues, plans, quantities, suggestions, and solutions. • Demonstrates significant and specialized knowledge of fiber optic principles and DWDM transmission • Proficient in integration, testing, provisioning, commissioning & maintenance of fiber optics transmission products & applications. • Deluge Knowledge of Optical Networking products understanding and their maintenance. • Perform maintenance work on the systems, and knowing how to troubleshoot systems in order to isolate and replace component failures. • Audit and optimization of the network components performance periodically. • Solve problems faster, improve operational efficiency, and reduce risk of downtime. • Splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon cables. Construct a proper splice case. Prepare and maintain splicing records, schematics and diagrams. • Responsible for providing 24x7 optical networking support in • Work indoor and outdoor under variable environmental conditions • Ability to work safely, with or without supervision, Ability to work individually or as a team member, Ability to organize workload and prioritize duties • Maintaining the network stability and KPI high by reducing the service affecting/degrading alarms & Trouble Ticket (TT) Management. • Periodic network infrastructure preventive maintenance and implementation of best practices on the network nodes for enhancing the network performance. • Documenting and imparting the necessary technical training among the FO & BO functional teams. • Meet targets, manage and monitor KPI’s– ensuring optimum performance and achievement of operational objectives.
