I was awarded the Ph.D. degree in Medical Science (2020, March) from Kumamoto University, Japan. My research specialization was in the area of Developmental Neurobiology. In my Ph.D. dissertation, I showed that Akhirin (AKH), a secreted molecule, regulates the proliferation and differentiation of neural stem cell/progenitor cells in the Subventricular zone and Hippocampus regions of the mouse brain.
I also worked on several other multi-dimensional projects highlighting- (a) involvement of a secreted molecule Tsukushi (TSK) in hydrocephalus development and hippocampal neurogenesis regulation in mouse brain, (b) cancer cell reprogramming by incorporating of prokaryote ribosomes and (c) involvement of a novel factor (AKH) on blood coagulation process in mice.
