    Description

    Responsibilities & Context

    Responsible For

    Cooking hygienic and palatable meals for the hospital ship staff, VIP guests, visitors, foreign doctors to the ship.

    Cleanliness, maintenance and upkeep of the ship's galley, stoves, refrigerators, appliances, utensils, crockery, cutlery etc. of the galley and saloon of the ship.

    Assisting in any other duty/activity of the floating hospital ships as delegated.

    Activities

    He shall be under the overall control of the Fleet Management Department in HO.

    His local control shall be the Administrator and/or Master of the ship.

    He shall be accountable and responsible the Administrator and/or Master of the ship for his day-to-day activities, duties and work performance.

    He is responsible for the cooking of meals hygienically for the entire crew/staff of his assigned hospital ship to a good and palatable standard.

    He is also responsible for cooking of meals hygienically to a good and palatable standard for VIP guests, visitors, foreign doctors of his assigned ship and houseboat as required/ordered/instructed by HO/Administrator/Master.

    He is solely responsible for cleaning, and maintenance of galley, pantry, crockeries, cutlery and utensils of his assigned hospital ship and houseboat.

    He is simultaneously responsible for cleaning and upkeep of galley fridges, cooking range/stove, and food storage spaces and ensure availability of sufficient gas cylinder on the ship.

    He is additionally responsible to serve food to all ship's staff & VIP guests, visitors, foreign doctors etc.

    He is also required to ensure and give support to medical team's food cooking requirement, if any, for out-patients or ward patients as required/ordered by Administrator.

    Additionally, he is responsible to ensure proper serving of drinking water for the hospital ship and houseboat, galley/pantry.

    He shall be a member of the ship's mess committee and render his expertise to the committee including day to day purchase of day food stuff, commodity, spices and condiments.

    He is liable for the proper cleanliness and maintenance of own individual living area on board and bed linen, blankets etc. issued to him.

    He can be delegated to undertake any other additional duty as required or directed by the relevant higher authority appropriate to his competency or grade and can be transferred from ship to ship as per operational requirement or convenience of Fleet Management Department in a post appropriate to his competency or grade.

    He will always be required to observe and uphold Friendship's Code of Ethics, Policies & Guidelines, Rules & Regulations, Personnel & Confidentiality Policies.
